What are foils?
The short answer
Foils are fine sections of hair painted with lightener and wrapped in foil, for a brighter, more uniform lift than any open-air technique.
The foil keeps the lightener warm and moist, so it works evenly and lifts right up to the root. That makes foils the choice for the lightest blondes, strong brightness around the face, and blending regrowth evenly. The trade-off is that a brighter root shows regrowth sooner than balayage, which is placed softly and grows out without a line.

Partial, half or full head?
Partial
Brightness around the face and parting, where the light catches first.
Half head
Lightness through the top and sides, with your own colour showing underneath.
Full head
All-over brightness, or full coverage of regrowth.
Tara recommends the right amount at your consultation, based on your hair and how bright you want to go. Partial and half head foils take less time than a full head.

Consult
At the chair, Tara looks at your hair in person, talks through your colour history and how bright you want to go, and confirms the plan and the price before anything begins.

Foil
Fine sections of hair are painted with lightener and wrapped in foil, which holds in heat and moisture so the colour lifts evenly, right up to the root.

Tone
A toner or gloss sets the exact shade, from cool and bright to warm and golden.

Cut and finish
Your hair is cut and styled so the colour sits the way it will look day to day.
Every step is done by Tara herself, so the person who plans your colour is the person who applies it.
